킹스 스피치의 감독 톰 후퍼의 차기작으로 뮤지털 "레미제라블"의 감독으로 물망에 오르고 있다고 한다.

빅토르 위고의 원작을 바탕으로 뮤지컬화된 것이다. 1998년에 영화화한 된바 있으며 리암 니슨, 제프리 러쉬, 우마써먼등이 출연 1410만달러의 수익을 올렸다.

ariety reports that Oscar-winning The King's Speech director Tom Hooper is in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of the musical "Les Mirables" for Universal Pictures.

The musical is based on the Victor Hugo novel, which focuses on the struggles of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption.

Cameron Mackintosh, who produced the musical's original British stage run, will produce along with Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman and Claire Danes starred in a previous feature adaptation in 1998, but the film earned only $14.1 million in theaters.
